Modern Wedding at the Boston Public Library

Jamie + John’s love story was written in the heart of Boston, culminating in a breathtaking wedding at the historic Boston Public Library. The couple, whose paths crossed while studying abroad overseas, both attended college in Boston where their story unfolded. They selected this historic venue for its intrinsic ties to their past, their dinner took place in the very room where much of their time was spent on academic pursuits —the same space that nurtured their love and where the bride even wrote her thesis.

The goal of the design was to weave in modern and unexpected elements throughout the library while honoring the library’s architectural beauty. Imagine the courtyard ceremony illuminated by thoughtfully placed lighting that accentuated the columns, and the dinner within Bates Hall, aglow under the dome’s warmth. Brass, metallics, crystal, and velvet graced the table settings, adding depth and texture while custom elements echoed their monogram, fonts, and a palette drawn from their wedding invitations.

Nightshift Entertainment set the tone for a packed dance floor full of celebration, coming to an end with a joyous streamer send-off. This wedding at the Boston Public Library intertwines a love story with history, design, and the timeless beauty of an institution, creating an unforgettable chapter in their lives.

Lauren organized and coordinated the best weekend of our lives. Our wedding was a dream and she made every aspect come true. Would recommend her to anyone!
