After a chance meeting at Bucknell University, Abby + Eddie quickly fell in love, spending their post-graduate years navigating New York City’s bustling streets before relocating to Massachusetts. As new residents of Boston’s North Shore, they envisioned welcoming family and friends to their new hometown for their wedding. The celebration unfolded at the picturesque Misselwood estate, featuring historic charm, coastal allure, and stunning grounds that added enchantment to this seaside affair.
Despite the venue being an obvious choice, envisioning the design involved choosing between three concepts: “Coastal Chic,” “Dreamy Pastels,” and “Refined Glamour.” Opting for the glam route, we aimed to create a modern-day “Gatsby” soiree with an estate on the water, black-tie elegance, and unforgettable live entertainment, ensuring every detail exuded sophistication.
Against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and a dreamy rainstorm, the ceremony showcased a lush aisle garden leading to an altar framed by ceremony urns designed to seamlessly blend with the space. In the reception tent, sophistication permeated the space with overhead chandeliers draped in greenery, velvet and metallic linen, a chic black & white dance floor, and the ambient sounds of an 8-piece band. Guests discovered the bride’s handcrafted granite and marble signage, stoneware chargers, frosted acrylic place cards, custom stationery, and a touch of glamour through unexpected mercury glass and metallic tabletop items at their tables.
The celebration not only immersed guests in an evening of unbridled glamour but also served as a heartfelt tribute to the cherished location of Abby & Eddie’s love story. Every detail, carefully curated and thoughtfully executed, not only transported attendees to an enchanting world but also deepened the connection between the celebration and the couple’s meaningful journey, making it a truly unforgettable and personal experience for everyone present.
